Introduction

Glen Nevis is outstanding. The Water of Nevis runs by the road side and the scenery is sublime with Big Ben watching over all that passes beneath. This is a short walk that is ideal for a family keen to introduce the kids to a special trip to go and see an impressive waterfall.

Gorgeous waterfall in the background... foreground doesn't look too hot!

This walk actually formed the first 2 km of our epic trip along the Mamores and is very easy going along a reasonable path.... you should of course make sure you're in sensible shoes and have at least the minimum of waterproofs - it is an urban myth that the sun always shines in Scotland.

Starting carpark - Chas/Dave, Chris and Andy.

Route

  • The route is obvious - from the carpark simply follow the path which leads East then South through the forest.
  • Then continue to follow the path South East and it will lead you to a bridge and then to the water fall.

This route actually continues south to the lead up to the famous Ring of Steel - a loop of 5 munros taking in the Devils Ridge.
